Brief Summary

In "Hyperion", humanity has conquered the stars — faster-than-light travel, wormholes, and AI rule a vast interstellar empire called the Hegemony. Life is rich and advanced, but one place defies all reason: Hyperion. In its northern wastes, an immortal machine-god called the Shrike lurks, defying time and dealing death—or granting miracles. Seven pilgrims set out on a final, desperate journey to meet this mysterious entity.
