Brief Summary

If you're a fan of modern gothic fiction, try "Mexican Gothic". Noemí Taboada, the main character, visits her newly-wed cousin Catalina and her English husband Virgil Doyle. Catalina is obviously unhappy and asks Noemí for help. Set in 1950s Mexico, this novel is a social commentary mixed with the mystic dark aesthetic.
