Brief Summary

A young Amish woman, Katie Lapp, is soon to be married to widower Bishop John. However, Katie cannot shake off the feeling that she doesn't belong, and she later gets "shunned" by her community. The author, Beverly Lewis, was raised in Pennsylvania Amish country herself, which is why her narratives are so vivid and realistic.
