One day, Dave Grohl's young daughter, Violet, surprised him by asking if he would teach her how to play the drums. Despite not expecting his children to be interested in music at such a young age, Grohl was eager to guide her. As a teenager, Grohl was drawn to the popular hard rock genre. Unlike most parents, his mother frequently took him to music workshops instead of movies or amusement parks. The way she played, went on stage, and sang reminded him of his younger self. Regardless of what science says about heredity, Grohl was certain of one thing—genes don't lie.
