You might not believe it, but success is possible in any area of your life. The main problem that can hinder you is the wrong mindset. Your brain has a superpower that you might not even realize.

Surprisingly, research by Stanford University has shown that we use only 2% of our mental potential throughout our lives. Imagine, for example, that you have 100 books, but you would read only the first two all the time, and the rest would remain untouched.

However, even with this 2%, you need to be able to get the most out of it. One way to do this is to write down your thoughts. For example, in a 1979 Harvard University study, researchers asked recent Harvard MBA graduates whether they had set specific and clear goals they planned to achieve. The results showed that only 13% had set such targets, and only 3% of participants wrote them down on paper.

After ten years, the researchers asked the same question again. They found that those graduates who had clear goals earned an average of twice as much, and those who wrote down their goals made as a whole ten times more. We all need a specific direction of movement to achieve success, as well as motivation and strength. It's much more effective to follow one consistent route than to waste time and energy on a bunch of different ones. The fulfillment of such written goals can be compared to a chain of levels in a game when you can perform more complex tasks with each new stage.

Your thoughts strongly influence your worldview and shape your understanding of things. That's why you should think about success in your chosen field, and thus gradually bring it to life.

Ineffective people spend time reflecting on unnecessary and undesirable things, such as their troubles or failures. They look for the reasons of their losses instead of learning and taking away something valuable. Successful people, on the other hand, often think about their desires and, most importantly, how to achieve them. In other words, they focus on what they should do to get what they want. You ought to do the same.
