The 10X Rule
Brief Summary
Do you ever wonder what determines whether we succeed or fail? Grant Cardone has the answer – the 10X Rule. Many of us fear taking risks and thinking big, thus choosing mediocrity. “The 10X Rule” reveals the principle of "massive action" to eliminate the fear of failure, help you define your boldest goals, and achieve them.

Did you know it takes the same effort to make $1,000 and $1,000,000? This statement may seem absurd, but it is true. Here's how it works. From childhood, we are told to be realistic and not to expect the impossible. It's better to avoid bold dreams so you don't get upset when you don't fulfill them, right?
It's a false belief. By setting "achievable" goals, we reduce our commitment and inspiration. The higher the target, the more effort it requires. Also, when you don't achieve a mediocre goal, you feel more frustrated. It negatively affects your self-esteem and your desire to improve yourself. Always try to maximize the target you set. For instance, if you want a job with a $10,000 salary, set a goal to find a job that will offer you $100,000!
The advantage of "big goals" is that they keep us motivated to work hard over a long period. For example, Emily wants to speak French. She decided to learn twenty new words per week or about three words per day. Because the task is so simple, there is a high probability that the girl will lose interest and give up learning the language. But what if she increases that number tenfold? In that case, Emily would need to read a French book in a couple of months or speak with natives. A more difficult challenge is more exciting and, therefore, more effective. Therein lies the 10X rule.
Using the 10X rule means you exceed your standard productivity limits and stop approaching big goals like an average person. Put in extra effort, even if others tell you it's pointless. And most importantly, keep your boldest ambitions. Without achieving the desired results, people often lower the bar. Failures disappoint them, and they look for excuses to reduce their activity. The 10x rule teaches us not to give up but instead work ten times harder. Only increased activity will help you achieve success. Remember: there are no wrong goals, only wrong approaches.
