We all know the Nike slogan, "Just do it." However, have we ever wondered why it became so popular? In a nutshell, there is a lot more hidden underneath that short sentence. The unspoken "it" catches the consumer's attention and makes them think about their personal "it" that needs to be done.

What do you start thinking about when you hear "Just do it?" Perhaps you want to write that book you've been dreaming about since childhood. It might help you quit your unloved full-time job and start traveling. Moreover, you'll be able to depend only on yourself and your creativity and not be burdened by a stiff-necked boss and a gray office.

Of course, you might just not settle down to write this book. But then what would happen to you? You will suffer for the rest of your life for not taking up that opportunity. Therefore, you must “do it.”

Our goal often intimidates us because we are trying to encompass it completely. Yes, great tasks can be complex, adding up to many levels and challenges, but you don't have to tackle everything at once. Actually, the secret here is quite simple. Break your goal down into small steps. Ask yourself: "What must I do to achieve this goal?" Start your morning by setting one or more steps to meet it. At the end of the day, ask yourself if you have accomplished it. Setting a goal and defining its elements is a big part of your job.

Many people have known since school that to learn thirty pages of an outline, you just have to learn one page at a time for a month. Thirty pages look daunting, but you've learned ten, then slowly moved on to fifteen. Not so daunting anymore, right? Your big, scary goal has become a number of defined small tasks.
