Obviously, he hadn’t planned on becoming a famous movie director since he was a child. However, even in his childhood and teenage years, he had an interest in films. It started with just liking TV; then, he began making short videos on different occasions. At that point, Steven Spielberg didn’t aim to win an Oscar or work with the best stars in the world—all those specific ambitions came much later. Movie making was the first thing that sparked his interest and gave him a direction in life.

You don’t need to have a specific idea of what you want your future to look like from day one. Having a broad vision is enough. It gives you a place to start, and gradually, the picture gets more defined as you grow and learn new things about yourself. And even then, it doesn’t mean that your vision will get narrower. It just means you’ll know exactly what you want to focus on.
