When it comes to journaling, there are plenty of methods of putting your thoughts on paper. The author, Ryder Carroll, had his own experience with journaling and managed to find the best method for him, called Bullet Journaling. Ryder discovered it in middle school when his grades started declining, and he had trouble focusing on tasks. Additionally, the author was diagnosed with attention deficit disorder. He was flooded with deadlines and duties, and his attention span was too short to focus on them. Meanwhile, other students seemed collected and disciplined. That was the time Ryder started journaling. He used a paper notebook and wrote pretty much everything in there, from to-do lists to his thoughts, like a diary.

The Bullet Journaling Method is not only useful but easily customizable, too. Yet, there are important parts to it that are irreplaceable. For instance, there is always a dedicated Index page to help you find the content quickly. If you create a new segment to add a new page, you need to update it. Just write a new number and a short rundown. Other essential parts are Logs. You put three main Logs into your bullet journal: Future, Monthly, and Daily.

You use Future logs to plan nearing events, goals, and things you have to do later. The Monthly log is a more complex part of your journal. It has a calendar and a special page dedicated to significant tasks. Knowing your schedule, deadlines, and tasks for that month is convenient. The last one is the Daily log. You can use it to track your schedule for the day and write down your thoughts or lists, like grocery lists.

The rest of the pages you fill up to your liking. Usually, their content depends on your lifestyle, hobbies, and needs. You can try different trackers to find what's working for you best. There are some lists like water intake and movie-watching lists.

Keeping a journal helps you adopt a new mindset, more goal-oriented, focused, and open to improvement. Besides, journaling benefits couples struggling with finding time for each other. For instance, after Rachael M. and her husband began to feel distant because of their busy schedules, they started to seek ways to improve it. They took up scheduling everything in their Bullet Journals. Journaling together brought them closer than they were before. It also helped them better understand each other's schedules and create new couple goals.
